When it comes to the weather, I am a believer. I believe in the power of weather to impact our lives in positive ways. I have no doubt that a strong dose of positive weather is a blessing that will help us to get through whatever is coming our way.
Well, that’s how I feel all the time. I’ve had so much good fortune in my life, and I never know when it’s going to turn bad. The good fortune of being here (or in the past) has only heightened my concern for the worst possible weather. It can be bad enough when you’re in a hurricane or a flood, but it is the worst thing to come along when you’re in a drought.
Well, it’s not like this is the first time since I’ve been here that this has happened. The drought in 2005, the flood in the spring of 2000, and the hurricane that hit the summer of 1996 all happened while I was here, too. It’s not like I’m going to change my ways, but it makes me so concerned that I can’t help but wonder how much longer I can last.
The drought in 2005 was the first that I could remember. I still have no idea why it happened. Was there a drought or something? The floods in 2000 were one of the worst things that ever happened here. It was like someone had torn down the boardwalks and started flooding the entire town, and then the water was just pouring down the street.
Last summer, the worst flood in the town’s history hit. It was so bad that it took the town’s water treatment plant two days to get it back up to normal. I’m not exaggerating. Like when the town had no water in the first place, they had to get a new water supply line every two weeks. They had to move some buildings, and their water supply system was taking up the entire town.
That was just the start, though. The worst-case scenario would be floodwaters starting getting into the town’s water distribution system. They would have to get new water treatment plants and shut down their water distribution system, which would result in the loss of all their water, and possibly a lot of people. You can bet the county already has some plans in the works to do exactly that.
It’s time to start thinking about what the next few months might look like. And when we do, we need to start thinking about what kind of weather we’re going to be having. We don’t know how long the next few months will be, but it will be a while until we get back to normal weather. So we need to start thinking about that now.

This is because a hurricane might wreck the power and you need to have something to cut the power before it wrecks your home.
